" Jiu-jitsu didn’t just help Chick lose an entire person’s worth of weight — it changed how she sees herself. “As the stories I told myself about what was possible changed, I changed,” she says. “I’ve never been fitter or stronger. I’ve never played so hard and laughed so much. I climb mountains and I dance and swim, and I know I can work really hard, and progress towards mastery in BJJ and in life. I have amazing friends and training partners who push me and inspire me. I’m part of amazing local and national communities. The story I tell myself now? Anything is possible.”
